Anaheim, Alaska - Amid questions over the ethics of anime journalism, Crunchyroll confirmed that it would overturn the voters' decision to make My Hero Academia the Anime of the Year 2026 in Crunchy's most recent anime awards and move the honor to Rent a Girlfriend season 4. "To be clear, after reviewing the votes, we have made the decision to replace MHA with Rent A Girlfriend Season 4 of our own accords due to voting rule 27A, and not due to pressure from the United States throwing a hissy fit online and tossing us a massive sack of cash," stated Crunchyroll on X (formerly Twitter), before noting in follow-up posts that Rent A Girlfriend's delectable plot, admirable animation, and slew of bodacious, blue-balling ladies made it clear that the show was more worthy than the voters had originally given the show credit for. "We obviously did not make the switch at the behest of Donald Trump. If we did, then why is the new winner a show featuring 18-20 year old women when we all know the Don much prefers girls at half that age?" Shortly after the announcement, Crunchyroll did confirm that they would reverse the decision to name Solo Leveling season 1 as the Anime of the Year 2025 and that those who disagreed would simply have to "suck it up and face the facts that the voters have no taste."
