Hartford, Japan - Desiring a second attempt to get children hooked on their cigars, tobacco company Camel confirmed today that they had acquired a guarantee to put their former mascot, Joe Camel, into an upcoming episode of the airing hit anime Chainsmoker Cat. "We need to revisit the idea that smoking cigarettes is harmful to children," stated a Camel spokesperson who would then go on to say that Chainsmoker Cat showing smoking addicts as poor, sick, and dirty would surely help strengthen the Camel brand. US Secretary of Health RFK Jr. concurred later on X (formerly Twitter) that negative side of effects of smoking cigarettes, such as rotten teeth, cancer, and smelling like total shit "did not have conclusive scientific backing", and that he too supported the Joe's return to help boost cigarette sales among children. The move comes among a growing shift in brand strategies when it comes to marketing in anime, most notably with Kalshi becoming the official sponsor of Kakegurui's upcoming season and the Israel funding both Genocidal Organ and the final movie in Attack on Titan.
