Space, Far Far Away – With pressure and criticism mounting following the Death Star’s annihilation of Alderaan, Galactic Empire general Grand Moff Tarkin was suspended by the Empire without pay. “Alderaan was hampering our ability to deal with illegal activities, so naturally it was our right to destroy the millions of lives on it,” claimed Tarkin after he ordered the Death Star to wipe out the planet. “We have been given clear commands by Emperor – er, I mean, Chancellor Palpatine to do whatever it takes to bring order to the galaxy.” While other high ranking Empire members, including Darth Vador, approved of the use of weapon, public opinion across the galaxy largely condemned the attack as an unnecessary increase in force. The attack on Alderaan came after Empire forces have repeatedly harassed planets that did not vote to end the Republic and allow Palpatine to have unchecked power even though evidence is overwhelming that both planets which supported Palpatine and Palpatine himself have been the source of a disproportionate number of illegal activities in the galaxy. Recently pardoned gangster Jabba the Hut has been tapped to take over command of the Death Star and promised straight away to only use it for personal use on the weekends.
