Shedeur Sanders Finally Drafted in the Third Round of 2026 Draft

It took a year and two rounds longer than expected, but he's finally got a team!

After over a year of hype, and after falling a couple of rounds further than expected, standout quarterback and future used car salesman Shedeur Sanders finally heard his name called as he was drafted in the third round by the Cleveland Browns. "To have my interviews go so poorly that I had to wait an extra year to be drafted is truly a remarkable feat, I think," said Sanders to reporters. "This will probably be the most noteworthy moment of my football career if you ignore all of the locker room drama I intend to start up." Schedeur was largely expected to go early in the first round of the 2025 draft, but rumors of poor interviews with teams and an abrasive parent led some analysts to start predicting Sanders would fall further in the draft, including a few who believed he'd fall all the way into the 2026 or even 2027 draft. Stephen A. Smith was asked for his opinion on Schedeur's surprise draft slide, but he has not yet officially commented yet, instead simply stating that he needs to finish his game of solitaire first.
